Make Us Proud Nationally.... Odebunmi Charges Fadama III Additional Financing Stakeholders.
The Honorable Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development Hon Kehinde Odebunmi has urged stakeholders of Ekiti state Fadama III Additional Financing to be diligent, faithful, and alive to their jobs.
The commissioner gave the advice while declaring the seminar open at the State Secretariat, Ado Ekiti. He said he was happy to be in their midst to declare the seminar open and charged the stakeholders to take the programme serious, because their performances will boost the state's ratings during assessment.
Hon Kehinde Odebunmi said, "I am happy to be in your midst to declare this seminar open. You are welcome to the programme and take the programme serious because in any programme Ekiti state is involved we always want to be the best, most especially in the area of Agriculture.
"Agriculture is our own petroleum. Thank God Agriculture is enduring, it lasts forever unlike petroleum. We want the Agric sector to be reawakened; that is the determination of Governor Peter Ayodele Fayose, and the process of reawakening it starts from the farmers.
"Congratulation for being part of the first set of farmers that would benefit from this programme. I also congratulate myself and the state for producing qualified participants.
"I will advise you to be serious with this programme because whatever you achieve will be used to measure the performance of Ekiti state. I want you to perform well, so that Ekiti will be rated well during assessment."
The commissioner advised farmers to be transparent in their dealings, saying any project/programme the world bank is sponsoring, they always want transparency. He said the state does not want a situation whereby farmers' attitude would be the cause of the state's failure. "Ladies and gentlemen, I want to have a feedback of success story. Agriculture that used to be the leading ministry in the past has now been relegated to the base due to the non-repayment of loans attitude of the farmers." Odebunmi said.
He thereafter declared the seminar open, and later had group pictures with the participants.
