Fayose Declares 6th of August Ekiti Artisan's Day

Ekiti State Governor Mr. Peter Ayodele Fayose has declared every 6th of August Ekiti Artisan's day. The governor made the declaration during a meeting with Ekiti Artisans at the multipurpose hall of Dave Hotel, Adebayo, Ado Ekiti.
Reacting to requests earlier made on behalf of the association by its President, Mr. Julius Oluwadare Adu, Governor Fayose assured the association of a #10,000,000(ten million) revolving loan/grant to be accessed by members, he promised to make the loan available within the next one and a half weeks(a period by which modalities for accessing the loan would have been reached by the artisans).
On the association's need for a vehicle and consideration for gifts at yuletide, governor Fayose appealed to the gathering to allow him remain silent on those requests for now, he cited the state's high indebtedness as his reason for the plea.
The governor who promised to help the association locate a land earlier promised them by Fayemi administration said necessary documents will be perfected and the land handed over to them. In case the land has been allocated to some other persons, Governor Fayose promised to get them another piece of land elsewhere as well as help the association in raising funds for the construction of a proposed Artisans' Village.
Informing the gathering that a data capturing exercise for members will soon commence, Governor Fayose urged all artisans to make sure they are captured. Assuring the gathering that members of the association will be appointed into government boards, he further promised that the association will henceforth be represented by one or two members at important government functions.
Governor Fayose also used the medium to appeal to the artisans as well as other Ekiti indigenes to pay their tax and dues regularly saying the little monies when gathered and properly utilised will go a long way in transforming the state.
